Let’s review this powerful protocol through the lens of a web developer. All communication on the web starts with an HTTP request, documented in excruciating detail in the W3C’s RFC 2616. You could pore over the RFC, but I think Pavan Podila offers a much better introduction to the protocol in this multi-part series explaining the basics. From GET, POST and PUT to status codes and more, it’s important that you understand these ABC’s of web communication. (more: here)
