Opera Embraces WebKit

Last week Opera announced that they were dropping development of their own Presto rendering engine and forking Webkit and V8 instead. Christian Heilmann provides some details and explains why this is a loss for web developers. “I always called Opera the Douglas Crockford of browsers as it was ruthless in its implementation of standards. If something didn’t work in Opera there is a good chance that you did something wrong.” (more here)
